Thankful for all my followers

Image
It's been over three years since I have officially become a self-published author. It's been quite a journey. I have gained (and lost) some followers but there are those who have stood with me since the beginning. I am so glad for each and everyone. I know that I haven't posted much lately but I have been dealing with some health issues. It seems as if there is always something coming up. Sometimes, it is very hard to stay long at the computer without feeling some pain. Though that may be so, I really do enjoy being here. I am very thankful to God for His unending grace and mercy. I am blessed. I like to say that God is good- always. There are many blessings in every day and I try my best to remember them and thank Him for it. One of those blessings is you- my followers. You are what helps me to keep writing. You are what I see when I go to my page. Each and every one of you is important. You do make the difference in someone's life. I pray that the Good Lord continues ...

A price must be paid

Image
These past few months have been hectic with all sorts of commitments, errands and having some increasing health issues that were making me less productive in my work life. My vision problems and lack of time were making it even more difficult to do my best when I sit at the computer. I felt so tired and drained that my brains felt like mush. I felt as if I was walking in quicksand, sinking deeper and deeper the more I struggled to stay afloat. I always have my daily walks with the Lord but my flesh was stepping in and taking priority rather than the spirit. As a result I was listening more to my cries than to His help. Have you ever felt that way too? It's not the nicest feeling in the world, is it? Because I was dealing with health issues, I felt a lot of physical pains in various areas of my body. My work was suffering from not being able to do as much as I'd liked to. It was hard to sit at the computer without my eyes hurting. I was paying the price for my ailments. T...

Life in pieces

Image
Life in pieces When I was a little girl, I used to love doing jigsaw puzzles. Even to this day, I enjoy doing it though I hardly have time for that anymore. I never liked doing the easy ones like the hundred piece puzzles. I used to want the 500 piece and higher. Give me a 1000 piece and I would be thrilled to work on it. I have even done some 5000 piece puzzles and they gave me a thrill of a lifetime!  Now mind you, some 100 piece puzzles can be very challenging like the ones with all candy or coins or flowers etc. I just love the fact that a larger amount piece puzzle gave me more time to spend on them.  My strategy on doing a jigsaw puzzle? I make the "frame" first by getting the edges all hooked together. Then I would fill in the "insides". I hated the skies (if there were any) and would leave those for last. Most time, I hardly look at the box cover apart from the cursory glance every now and then to detect something on a piece. I have some favorite memori...

When you feel as if your life is shattering

Image
Things happen in our world. Good things. Bad things. That's life. We all know that. God has not promised us a pain free or stress free life but He does promise us that He will be with us and never leave us. Sometimes that is hard to remember, especially when you feel as if everything around you is crumbling. Like a broken mirror or glass. Have you ever seen the ripples after it got smashed by some force? The cracks appear at first and then sooner or later, the pieces start shattering. Something like the photo below. Sometimes, we feel that way don't we? Things happen beyond our control. Our steady lives suddenly isn't so steady anymore. It may be bad news from the doctor or a loss of job or an accident or worse. Something that happens in an instant to dramatically change your life. You see these things happen everyday on the news. My heart aches to see someone in pain, their tears of sorrow and their cries for help. If you look at current events in this country, you can se...

Be who you are

Image
These days it seems as if everyone wants to be like someone else. Maybe it is a certain hairstyle or having a super model body figure or even to become successful to make lots of money like the rich and famous. Teenagers are pressured to be like their friends so that would fit into the "in" crowd. The media especially social media, seems to be bombarding everyone's lives, mostly in a negative way. We spend a lot of time swiping or typing to keep up with life's events. Even our thoughts are flying off the shelf with this and that to do and the next thing you know is that another day has gone by. It has happened to me and I am sure it has happened to many if not all of you at some point in time. Companies have spent millions to get that response from us. You may see advertisements at clothing stores with celebrities and models showing off the clothing. Even the mannequin have perfect bodies.  It appeals to the unconscious. A marketing strategy. How many of us are goin...

Stand out from the crowd

Image
Have you ever wanted to just fit in when everyone else is not like you or rather when you are not like everyone else? This is usually common among teenagers and young people but it is not exclusive to just them alone. I have seen a lot of adults who are like that. I ask myself why. Why? Really why? Why be a copycat? Why try to be something that you are not? We've all done it some time or the other, but to make it a life's dream to be someone or something you are not, then that is a bit too much. Don't aim to be a copycat. God has made you unique. Special. You are one of a kind. Just be yourself and stand out from the crowd. Have a blessed day/night! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
I just want to take the time to wish all moms out there a happy and blessed Mother's Day! A mother's job is never done is it? There is always something that a mother wants to do for her child. It may be to get something (purchased or made), do something such as a call or text or even cook a meal or favorite dish. Then there are the never ending prayers. No matter how grown the kids get, a praying mom keeps on praying. Many mothers are good mothers. They care for their children and what happens to them. They want to hold them or try to be there for them when life does not go well for them.  A mother is not superwoman but she sure does hold many capes. In her child's eyes, she is strong and cannot do wrong. She is readily available whether physically or through communicating from a phone, computer or some other method. She cooks the best meals. Her touch or voice is very soothing. She can bring a smile to her child's face. Everything is alright when mom is there for he...
