Pain can be a barrier to enjoying your life

Image
Pain can be a barrier to enjoying your life: It's been a long time since I have blogged here. It's not that I didn't want to but I just couldn't seem to make the time for it. For the past couple years and a half, I have been dealing with my health worsening from one issue to the next. As time went on, I had to deal with constant pains and going to the doctor more regularly. Now, I am taking different medications and it seems that I have been getting more added to the list. I have to take medications every day and some of the meds I would have to take for the rest of my life. These pains were causing me anxiety and worry especially since the varied tests I had to do did not yield what exactly was causing them. I constantly prayed to God about what I was going through. Some days I was okay with it. Other times when the pains became very intolerable, I would feel helpless because I was becoming incapacitated in doing the things that we all take for granted. Things li...

Final Day in 2015

Image
Today is Thursday, December 31st. It is the last day of the year 2015. A lot can happen in a year. In fact, a lot can happen in a day. This year for me has been one filled with good and not so good, but I must say that I am still thankful. Thankful that though there were a few storms in my life, that the One and Only gave me the strength I needed. He has blessed me in so many little ways. I cannot afford to take it all for granted nor forget to know whom to thank. It is not 2016 yet. Just a few more hours to go, but I do want to take the time to thank each and everyone of my readers who has supported me and cheered me on. Thanks to each of those who have downloaded my books. Thanks to those who took part in the giveaways. My prayers are with you all. I wish you only the best. I pray that this coming year for you is one filled with lots of love and happiness. I pray also that we share His Love, be kind to one another and always be willing to lend a helping hand or even a smile t...

Sneak Peek!

Image
I am so excited to show you all a sneak peek of my new book coming soon. It is a short devotional for Christian wives called "The Power of the Christian Wife". It is adapted from a brief article I had written in 2010. I am still in the revision stage but was so excited when I got this cover done today. Stay tuned! Blessings to you all! First day of Fall!

Image
Summer has gone and Fall is here.. Though soon the leaves are going to start falling, we still see the beauty and magnificence of our Lord! I cannot seem to get enough of the beauty around us. Each little creature that flutters by or each color that pops up, I am reminded of His power, His love-our wonderful Creator. Have a blessed first day of Fall!

Delight yourself in the Lord

Image
These past weeks have been one of dreadful cold for many in North America. Snow, freezing rain, storms in varying amounts-some more than others. You just have to put on the television and there would be images of piles of snow being shoveled, homes damaged, news of schools closing due to the terrible weather, some people being victims of hypothermia. After having some snow here in the South and howling winds all night and day, we are finally getting the expected rain. The snow has completely melted here and by morning, it will still be raining on the soggy mess of our yards.  Apart from the weather being a major headline, you hear about violence, brutality, wickedness. It is sad to see so much suffering around us. Please remember to always pray for others. We must remember to put our trust in the Lord. He knows and sees all thing. I leave you with Psalms 37:4. "Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

What a crazy few weeks!

Sorry that I haven't blogged in so long but if you were following my Facebook page Author AM Glover Facebook page, you would have known that there was quite a bit of events in my life. First, my husband had to be rushed to the ER and had an appendectomy. Then after he was released the next day, we went home and couldn't seem to get better. Nine days afterward, he had to be rushed again and this time it was because of an abscess forming at the point of the appendectomy because somehow or the other some of the poisons of the infection leaked into him and caused the abscess. We were there (yes, I slept in the hospital room and it was no fun sleeping in the pull out couch) for five nights. After the third day and he was getting more pains rather relief from the antibiotics and pain medication in his IV, the doctor decided to put a drain in him. Relief came and it was a matter of healing. Then last week, I had to take him back to the ER for the third time in less than a month. This...
