There is a reason for your detours in life

Image
There is a reason for your detours in life. Sometimes things happen in our lives to slow us down or guide us in a certain direction. Maybe the Lord has a detour for us to see something we may not have otherwise seen. Think of it like you are on a journey to somewhere. You are anxious to get to your destination and then the road that you are familiar with, is under construction. There is a huge detour. Along that detour route, you notice a beautiful view or come across something that you wouldn't have had if you were traveling on your familiar route. My chronic pains are getting the better of me. Yesterday morning I was able to get out of bed almost eleven o' clock. It can be very frustrating. There is so much stuff to do. My weekly schedule is full with chores, errands, my daughter's volleyball practices and games, appointments to make and keep, bills to remember to pay and so on. My drafts need to be revised and edited. I am anxious to get them done but it seems as ...

Happy New Year 2017!

Happy New Year 2017!  Today is Sunday, 1st January, 2017. It is the first day of the New Year. Wow, where did 2016 go? I think that last year just flew by. I am not sure that I miss it though. I am looking forward to a new year and new beginnings. I pray that my relationship with the Lord would be one that is constantly growing. I pray for my fans who are still following me on Facebook. I've had some faithful ones from the very beginning of when I started the page. How blessed am I to have such dear friends! Though we do not know what tomorrow may bring, I plan to get more writing done. I have a few that are still in the draft process but with the worsening of my health this past year, I haven't done much as I would have liked to. So this year I will write more. I have made up my mind to do so and I pray that the Lord would give me good health and strength for it. I am also in the process of having another inspirational project getting started. I would not divulge too much ...

Having the right attitude

Image
It is the first day of April and the weather is much prettier than yesterday. I am very thankful that though we were under a tornado watch in our area, we were spared of heavy rains and damaging winds. God is so good to us each day! Life is not perfect but we can make life easier with our attitudes. Having the right attitude helps to develop our way of thinking and acting. For the past month, I had been going through various health obstacles which were getting me down. I prayed constantly about it and God spoke to my heart that I just need to stop thinking about my problems and give it all to Him. I was wasting the precious hours away. Life is too short for regrets. Let's take on each day with a smile on our faces and come what may, we can have the right attitude to help us -along with His Guidance- of course. Have a blessed day!

Be strong no matter what your circumstances

Image
Almost two weeks have passed in this new year. With it, I have noticed that the challenges for me have already started. Isn't it amazing how the cares of this world can get to us? If you go on the internet or put on the television or listen to the radio, there is always something happening that stuns us, aggravates us, grieves us, disgusts us and so on. Nearly all the news you hear is bad news. It can wear you down whether you notice it or not. The good news is that no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, we have someone to depend on (that is if you are one who trust in God or even believe in God). We have someone who loves us despite who we are or what we've done.   I had a couple of giveaways last month and a couple new members who joined my Facebook page have had recent losses of loved ones. Grief is never easy. I pray for them and others who are going through similar circumstances. If you are reading this and have experienced a loss, please remember this quote b...

First day of Fall!

Image
Summer has gone and Fall is here.. Though soon the leaves are going to start falling, we still see the beauty and magnificence of our Lord! I cannot seem to get enough of the beauty around us. Each little creature that flutters by or each color that pops up, I am reminded of His power, His love-our wonderful Creator. Have a blessed first day of Fall!

God's promises are new every morning

For the past few weeks, I have been dealing with some painful physical problems. I've felt overwhelmed and frustrated at times because I was being limited more and more by what I couldn't do. The list of housework, errands, keeping up with getting bills paid on time, getting my daughter's birthday party planned and not being able to write were all getting to me.  There were times when I just had to stay in bed a lot due to being in pain but the Lord gave me the strength that I need. I know that He is always there for me. I have to keep reminding myself to give my burdens to Him and not try to bear it all alone. He has never failed me. I am so thankful that I have a Savior who can lift me when my spirit feels broken.  As I was returning home from dropping my daughter off to school yesterday morning, I saw this beautiful sunrise and I just had to say "Wow!" I've seen sunrises before but somehow or the other, this one was just amazing! There was this pink glow...

God takes care of His own

Today, as I was going out to the porch, I caught a glimpse of this lovely house wren walking across the platform and I ran inside to get my camera. By the time I got back, I didn't see it immediately but soon saw it fluttering amongst the dogwood branches. In no time, it went to the pile of firewood and I was finally able to get some shots. I stood there for a long while admiring it. As I loaded the photos in my computer and saw the bird, I was reminded of Matthew 6:26. "Matthew 6:26 - Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" God takes care of the birds. They are important to Him. He also takes care of those who belong to Him.The past few months had been a bit hard financially and health-wise but throughout the hard times, my hubby and I were able to see the amazing Love and Grace that our Lord bestows. He sustained us all throughout and we ...

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord

Today is the first day of June, 2014. How much has the time flown by! Sometimes, I have to make myself slow down and reflect. Have you ever done that? Have you ever felt that there are not enough hours in the day? I am almost done writing Book 3 in the Sunny Brook Trilogy (Marie- Reunited). It has been a long journey. At times, it can be frustrating that I cannot get a scene done because the routines of life demands my attention. Then, I have to remind myself that everything is in God's timing. I was finally able to do some work on my book yesterday and it was refreshing that not only was I able to finish a scene that I had started but to write two more! Our problem is that most of the times, we try to do everything ourselves and when we cannot, then we turn to God. Does that happen to you at times? Daily we need to keep reminding ourselves to trust in the Lord before trusting in ourselves or others. The Lord's Way is the Only right way. Lord, I put myself in Your care and tru...
