Bloom where you are planted

Image
Each day something happens in our lives that make it different from any other day. Just like the rose (or any other flower for that matter), there are no two exactly alike.I love roses, don't you? I was taking a walk in my yard and admiring the roses blooming. The sunlight hit them in just the right way. It touched my heart to see one particular bush that a former church couple had given to us. They no longer attend our church because they had relocated from our area but before they did, the man offered my husband the rose bush. My husband planted it last year and this year, it was blooming so beautifully. If you hadn't noticed yet, I LOVE roses! Just like that rose bush that got replanted, we are to bloom wherever God plants us in life. We can survive with His help. I know, because I had been replanted and my life has become one with less heartache and more joy in my life. Sometimes, we may not know why certain circumstances are in our lives but there is a reason. Our Master G

Remembering our veterans

Today we went to the Veteran's Memorial park where there was a celebration to honor our Veterans. My little one was part of the volunteer chorus from two elementary schools. It brought tears to my eyes to see how much this little gesture touched the hearts of those surviving veterans. It was starting to get a little hot there but thankfully things went smoothly. Apart from my camera's battery going dead right when they were giving the 21-gun salute, I was able to get a few pictures and videos. I am so thankful that I was able to be in the presence of those who have given so much for our freedom. All had given some and some had given all. May God bless America and may God bless our Veterans! Let us never forget who our real heroes are!

Do you know where you are going to?

This past weekend, we attended the funeral services of one of our church members who recently trusted the Lord as his personal Savior. There was crying (understandably so) from his family and friends. The loss of a loved one hurts deep to the core. Yes, I cried too. It is hard for me to see others hurting. Each of us will have memories that are not exactly alike. Our favorite ones will all be different in some way. His wife, his children, his mother, his siblings and all those who were associated to him in some way, will all have different stories to tell.  Though this is a sad time for those who are left behind, it is one of rejoicing for him. He will get to meet our Blessed Savior. That my friends, is the greatest consolation of all. Death is a promise to each of us but there is something that is even greater than death. One that has overcome death and given us a promise- the gift of eternal life. Only through the confession of our sins and our acceptance of the Lord Jesus. He has

Happy Monday!

Good morning dear friends! What a beautiful day today has started to be! The sun is shining in the clear blue skies and I can hear the birds chirping as I type. I just came back from a small grocery shopping trip. I did find a few deals that I just could not pass up. So many plans for today but I just wanted to stop by and say hello. Wishing you all a blessed day! By the way, the photo below is of my dear bassett, Belle. She is getting old but isn't she adorable! :)

A beautiful day

This morning it was so pretty outside that I had to step out of my writing cave and enjoy the scenery. It has already started to get a little muggy. I find myself thinking where is Spring? It seems more like Summer time weather but I am thankful for all the little blessings that the Lord provides each day for us.Enjoy the rest of your day! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I want to wish all my readers who are mothers a very happy and blessed Mother's Day 2014! My day had started off with my youngest daughter bringing me French Toast and coffee in bed for breakfast. Hubby got me some rose bushes. Two of our daughters got me an orchid plant each. Then at church, the mothers all received corsages. After church, we enjoyed lunch at Captain D's with my daughter and son-in-law. Then my eldest son came for a visit. I was also treated to a "spa" at home where I got my feet soaked and nails painted by the youngest. The day is not over yet! What a blessing today was so far! I want to thank my mother for being the such an inspiring example to me. She is emotionally strong, hard-working and has a lot of faith in the Lord. She has always been there to give an encouraging word or smile. If you have a mother who is still alive, please take the time to tell her how much you appreciate her. Mothers are God's gift to us! Have a wonderful day!

Welcome my dear friends!

Welcome my dear friends to my new blog! I really do appreciate you stopping by! Today has been a day of relaxation after a chaotic few weeks of hassles. The Good Lord is always ready to give us sustenance when we deeply need it. For the past couple days, I felt as if I could not move again and have been plodding along trying to push through the mire of weariness. This morning, I woke up refreshed! Thankful that I have Someone who is there to always provide for me. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
