Bloom where you are planted

Each day something happens in our lives that make it different from any other day. Just like the rose (or any other flower for that matter), there are no two exactly alike.I love roses, don't you? I was taking a walk in my yard and admiring the roses blooming. The sunlight hit them in just the right way. It touched my heart to see one particular bush that a former church couple had given to us. They no longer attend our church because they had relocated from our area but before they did, the man offered my husband the rose bush. My husband planted it last year and this year, it was blooming so beautifully. If you hadn't noticed yet, I LOVE roses! Just like that rose bush that got replanted, we are to bloom wherever God plants us in life. We can survive with His help. I know, because I had been replanted and my life has become one with less heartache and more joy in my life. Sometimes, we may not know why certain circumstances are in our lives but there is a reason. Our Master Gardener knows the right soil and the right place for us to thrive. So my challenge for you and myself is to bloom where planted! Have a blessed day!

God takes care of His own

Today, as I was going out to the porch, I caught a glimpse of this lovely house wren walking across the platform and I ran inside to get my camera. By the time I got back, I didn't see it immediately but soon saw it fluttering amongst the dogwood branches. In no time, it went to the pile of firewood and I was finally able to get some shots. I stood there for a long while admiring it. As I loaded the photos in my computer and saw the bird, I was reminded of Matthew 6:26. God takes care of the birds. They are important to Him. Pawprints on our hearts

Today made a week since my pet bassett hound, Belle went missing. We've looked, called and used the internet to find her but no luck. Sometimes, I think she would just be there waiting when I get home or open the door and it would be just like before. Sometimes at night, I hear the neighbor's dogs barking and I would think I hear "voice" but then I know it is not.  She was like part of our family and has been with us for over eleven years now. I just wish I knew what happened to her. Did someone steal her? Had she been hit and is lying on the side of a ditch somewhere? Is she injured and cannot get help? We even called Animal Control to see if they'd picked her up but no luck. I'd prefer her to be stolen and well taken care of than to be gone. This is just another of life's experiences we all must go through- pain and loss. It hurts even still. Praying that we can still find her. There is always hope. Leah Belle, you have left pawprints on our hearts!

Taking a break

After the intense editing and formatting my Kindle versions of the individual books in The Sunny Brook Trilogy, I am finally finished with the updates. Yay!!! It's been pretty grueling because formatting for Kindle and for print are very different. But God is good (if you know me- that's what I say a lot). So, to give myself a mental boost, I took my beloved camera and walked to the front yard. I love shooting anything- from the flowers to the birds and yes, even the weeds!! Here are just a few of the pics. I love Spring!!! I wish I had time to edit the rest but due to time constraints, I can't. Enjoy :) !
