Final Day in 2015

Image
Today is Thursday, December 31st. It is the last day of the year 2015. A lot can happen in a year. In fact, a lot can happen in a day. This year for me has been one filled with good and not so good, but I must say that I am still thankful. Thankful that though there were a few storms in my life, that the One and Only gave me the strength I needed. He has blessed me in so many little ways. I cannot afford to take it all for granted nor forget to know whom to thank. It is not 2016 yet. Just a few more hours to go, but I do want to take the time to thank each and everyone of my readers who has supported me and cheered me on. Thanks to each of those who have downloaded my books. Thanks to those who took part in the giveaways. My prayers are with you all. I wish you only the best. I pray that this coming year for you is one filled with lots of love and happiness. I pray also that we share His Love, be kind to one another and always be willing to lend a helping hand or even a smile t

Being thankful always

Image
I am always reminded of God's kindness- every day. Yesterday, my little one had to play with the GSU band during half time for the game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, along with a few other middle and high school bands. We'd been having a lot of rain and yesterday there was supposed to be even more. We did have just a little but nothing much to bother us. God is so good. We were able to get to Atlanta without too much traffic (yay!) and enjoy ourselves. We returned home safely and in very little rain. I am forever thankful for the little things we are blessed with each day. What about you?

Sneak Peek!

I am so excited to show you all a sneak peek of my new book coming soon. It is a short devotional for Christian wives called "The Power of the Christian Wife". It is adapted from a brief article I had written in 2010. I am still in the revision stage but was so excited when I got this cover done today. Stay tuned! Blessings to you all! The Protection of God

Image
Good morning! It's another rainy day today. The trees are already starting to shed their leaves. I love looking at the wonderful colors Fall brings. Down here at the south, we hardly get severe cold weather and when we do, it is hard for us unlike those who live up north. I love the Fall.  I believe that God looks out for us all the time even though we may not realize it. The night before last we had some steady rain with the winds whipping all throughout the night. By the time it was morning, the road where we live was a sea of leaves. After waking up my daughter to get ready for school, the time did not go the way it usually does. Somehow or the other, we were fifteen minutes behind the usual. I was a bit perplexed because it seemed as we lost some time. Did I get up from bed later or idled away the time? No. We had to rush a bit for her to finish getting ready. I brushed aside the lapse in time, thinking maybe somehow we were not paying too much attention. When we got to

First day of Fall!

Image
Summer has gone and Fall is here.. Though soon the leaves are going to start falling, we still see the beauty and magnificence of our Lord! I cannot seem to get enough of the beauty around us. Each little creature that flutters by or each color that pops up, I am reminded of His power, His love-our wonderful Creator. Have a blessed first day of Fall!

God's promises are new every morning

For the past few weeks, I have been dealing with some painful physical problems. I've felt overwhelmed and frustrated at times because I was being limited more and more by what I couldn't do. The list of housework, errands, keeping up with getting bills paid on time, getting my daughter's birthday party planned and not being able to write were all getting to me.  There were times when I just had to stay in bed a lot due to being in pain but the Lord gave me the strength that I need. I know that He is always there for me. I have to keep reminding myself to give my burdens to Him and not try to bear it all alone. He has never failed me. I am so thankful that I have a Savior who can lift me when my spirit feels broken.  As I was returning home from dropping my daughter off to school yesterday morning, I saw this beautiful sunrise and I just had to say "Wow!" I've seen sunrises before but somehow or the other, this one was just amazing! There was this pink glow

Taking a break

After the intense editing and formatting my Kindle versions of the individual books in The Sunny Brook Trilogy, I am finally finished with the updates. Yay!!! It's been pretty grueling because formatting for Kindle and for print are very different. But God is good (if you know me- that's what I say a lot). So, to give myself a mental boost, I took my beloved camera and walked to the front yard. I love shooting anything- from the flowers to the birds and yes, even the weeds!! Here are just a few of the pics. I love Spring!!! I wish I had time to edit the rest but due to time constraints, I can't. Enjoy :) !

I need Spring!!!

Image
Today, the kids had to leave school early due to sleet and possible icy roads. It is going to get cold tonight- again! I am so ready for Spring and getting back to my exercise at the park. What about you? I hope that you are all staying safe and warm. Have a blessed day!!

Delight yourself in the Lord

Image
These past weeks have been one of dreadful cold for many in North America. Snow, freezing rain, storms in varying amounts-some more than others. You just have to put on the television and there would be images of piles of snow being shoveled, homes damaged, news of schools closing due to the terrible weather, some people being victims of hypothermia. After having some snow here in the South and howling winds all night and day, we are finally getting the expected rain. The snow has completely melted here and by morning, it will still be raining on the soggy mess of our yards.  Apart from the weather being a major headline, you hear about violence, brutality, wickedness. It is sad to see so much suffering around us. Please remember to always pray for others. We must remember to put our trust in the Lord. He knows and sees all thing. I leave you with Psalms 37:4. "Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

As white as snow

Image
Growing up, we learned all different sayings as part of our studies in school. One of them was "as white as snow". I have no idea why that came into my mind today but it was such fun to see the snow falling in its splendor down in the south. I know that there are so many people facing hardships due to the terrible snow conditions- especially up north. I pray that everyone stays safe and warm. Snow is beautiful but it is also dangerous. Praying for those who have a hard time staying warm. "As white as snow"-yes. Snow is white. It looks clean but nothing is cleaner that the blood of Jesus.  This brings to mind the words from the song, "Nothing but the blood". What can take away our sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus...Then the part..."Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow...nothing but the blood of Jesus."

Special Edition

Image
Phew!!!! I finally was able to complete formatting my exclusive special edition of The Sunny Brook Trilogy. Who knew that it would take this long!!! I cannot wait for it to be approved for publishing :). This had been a long time request and I am so glad that it is about ready. In the meantime, I am ready to work on the other writings that I still have to complete! Wishing you all a blessed day!!!! Here is a preview of the new special edition :

God takes care of His own

Today, as I was going out to the porch, I caught a glimpse of this lovely house wren walking across the platform and I ran inside to get my camera. By the time I got back, I didn't see it immediately but soon saw it fluttering amongst the dogwood branches. In no time, it went to the pile of firewood and I was finally able to get some shots. I stood there for a long while admiring it. As I loaded the photos in my computer and saw the bird, I was reminded of Matthew 6:26. "Matthew 6:26 - Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" God takes care of the birds. They are important to Him. He also takes care of those who belong to Him.The past few months had been a bit hard financially and health-wise but throughout the hard times, my hubby and I were able to see the amazing Love and Grace that our Lord bestows. He sustained us all throughout and we
