Taking a break

I am so thankful that I have finished editing Book 3 of The Sunny Brook Trilogy (Marie-Reunited). All I need to do is work a little bit more on tweaking and formatting before getting it ready to be published on Amazon. I am so excited! This book will first be published as Kindle format but sometime soon, I will be working on the print. Make sure that you like and check my Facebook page for the latest updates! As I end the trilogy, I feel sad at saying goodbye to my characters. I actually cried! (Yes, I am sappy!) I hope that those who actually read my books will fall in love with them. Lizzie, Abigail and Marie were the three main female lives that the trilogy touched on. They had their flaws like each of us( and so did all the characters) but through their faith in God, they were able to achieve so much more and gain strength to carry on, no matter what life brought to them.

In the meantime, I have been trying to learn some cake decorating and piddled on projects during my breaks from writing. Here is a picture of a vanilla cake that I made from scratch. I actually used it to try my hand with cake pops. They were not perfectly round but my little one said they tasted great. She actually had two!

God takes care of His own

Today, as I was going out to the porch, I caught a glimpse of this lovely house wren walking across the platform and I ran inside to get my camera. By the time I got back, I didn't see it immediately but soon saw it fluttering amongst the dogwood branches. In no time, it went to the pile of firewood and I was finally able to get some shots. I stood there for a long while admiring it. As I loaded the photos in my computer and saw the bird, I was reminded of Matthew 6:26. "Matthew 6:26 - Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" Pawprints on our hearts

Today made a week since my pet bassett hound, Belle went missing. We've looked, called and used the internet to find her but no luck. Sometimes, I think she would just be there waiting when I get home or open the door and it would be just like before. Sometimes at night, I hear the neighbor's dogs barking and I would think I hear "voice" but then I know it is not.  She was like part of our family and has been with us for over eleven years now. I just wish I knew what happened to her. Did someone steal her? Had she been hit and is lying on the side of a ditch somewhere? Is she injured and cannot get help? We even called Animal Control to see if they'd picked her up but no luck. I'd prefer her to be stolen and well taken care of than to be gone. This is just another of life's experiences we all must go through- pain and loss. It hurts even still. Praying that we can still find her. There is always hope. Leah Belle, you have left pawprints on our hearts!

Taking a break

After the intense editing and formatting my Kindle versions of the individual books in The Sunny Brook Trilogy, I am finally finished with the updates. Yay!!! It's been pretty grueling because formatting for Kindle and for print are very different. But God is good (if you know me- that's what I say a lot). So, to give myself a mental boost, I took my beloved camera and walked to the front yard. I love shooting anything- from the flowers to the birds and yes, even the weeds!! Here are just a few of the pics. I love Spring!!! I wish I had time to edit the rest but due to time constraints, I can't. Enjoy :) !
