All about Him

Image
Last evening, after our church service, we had a little get-together for food and fellowship. I had my camera with me and kept shooting pictures of everyone. Most of the shots that I took were candid and some were posed. I think that I love candid ones more, don't you? Everyone was talking and enjoying themselves. I browsed around the fellowship hall and listened to the chatter and constant laughter. It was a pleasing sight to say the least. I could feel the love for each other and thought about what our Lord would think when He looked down at us. He would be smiling, I'm sure. Though our church have a small number of members, there is unity and love. When someone has a need, you can count on someone praying immediately. This past year has been a bit stormy in the lives of a lot our members including my family but our hope and strength came from the Master Himself. We know that no matter what happens in our lives, He is in control. We may fall short sometimes in our faith but s

Where has the time gone?

Today is my anniversary with my beloved. I cannot believe how much time has flown and how we have both grown together since we met! With many bad experiences of my first marriage, I couldn't believe when the Lord took hold of my hand and guided me through life to favor the encounter of my darling. Since then, my spiritual life has changed for the better! I was never happier. Oh mind you, there were bumps along the way but we both allowed the Lord to take control of our lives and when that happened, blessings poured forth. I am thankful that I married someone who loves and serves the Lord each day! He's my best friend and my the love of my life. Happy anniversary, honey!

Ramblings

Well friends, Fall is finally here and the leaves are already starting to turn. Here down in the south, they seem to get dry faster! Maybe I will be able to get up to the mountains when the leaves are in their brilliant colors. The night air is crisp and the mornings are very cool when I have to take my daughter to school. I feel sorry for all the kids who have to wait on the buses! Today, as I stepped out on the back porch, the chickens, turkeys and peacocks are all so tamed that they came scampering towards me, thinking that I was going to feed them. They didn't need any. There was this one peacock who thought he was going to get there first that he flew up the rails on the steps and started walking upwards towards where I was. I ran back inside to grab my camera. You can see him below :) He is so tame that he doesn't fly away when you get near him. Thanksgiving is coming up. Who knows, maybe he will be the main feast ;) You all have a blessed day!

What a crazy few weeks!

Sorry that I haven't blogged in so long but if you were following my Facebook page Author AM Glover Facebook page, you would have known that there was quite a bit of events in my life. First, my husband had to be rushed to the ER and had an appendectomy. Then after he was released the next day, we went home and couldn't seem to get better. Nine days afterward, he had to be rushed again and this time it was because of an abscess forming at the point of the appendectomy because somehow or the other some of the poisons of the infection leaked into him and caused the abscess. We were there (yes, I slept in the hospital room and it was no fun sleeping in the pull out couch) for five nights. After the third day and he was getting more pains rather relief from the antibiotics and pain medication in his IV, the doctor decided to put a drain in him. Relief came and it was a matter of healing. Then last week, I had to take him back to the ER for the third time in less than a month. This

Proof ordered!

I have finished formatting my print book file and ordered my proof of "Marie- Reunited" (Book 3 of The Sunny Brook Trilogy). I am so excited. It has been shipped today, so now it is a matter of waiting. I cannot wait! All three books are available on Amazon in the Kindle format just in case you my dear readers cannot wait for the print book :). In the meantime, I have started a new book. This one is a stand-alone and hopefully it is going to be an interesting one. Things have become very hectic here at home. We have a son moving on to another college this weekend. This is the first time that he is going to be away from home like this. Praying for his safety and the Lord to continue to bless and protect him. If you have a child or children who have started school-no matter what grade- I want to wish them a wonderful school year. The years do fly by, don't they? Ah, if only they could stay little :)

A beautiful Summer day today!

Image
It is such a beautiful Summer day today! After some rain this week, the grass sure have grown. The best part is watching the flowers bloom :). I had to stroll in the yard and admire them, just shooting away with my camera. Our sunflowers were probably nine feet tall if not more! Don't you love beauty around you? I am always amazed at how much the Lord reminds us of His masterpieces. I just want to post a few of the pictures I took to share with you. Enjoy!

Always trying something new

Image
You know as I write this, I think about all the little stuff in life that we tend to overlook and not pay much attention to. There are so many experiences our lives are filled with that we cannot count them. When I sit and reflect my own life, I sometimes smile with a variety of emotions passing over me- joy, sadness, regret, excitement to name a few. Have you ever done that? Yesterday was one of those little memories that was made. My little one and I had our first blueberry picking! It was right in our pastor's garden. It was actually enjoyable apart from the terrible back pains that usually plague me. Today, I have eaten berries all day! I also made some blueberry smoothie and a blueberry vanilla cake. Tonight, I may be dreaming of blueberries! Go ahead and make small memories. Make sure that you enjoy every minute of it!

Delicious jalapeno soup

Image
I've been wanting to make this soup for a while now but haven't got around to doing it so yesterday, I made sure that I got some fresh jalapenos and my other ingredients that I would need for it. If you like jalapeno and spicy stuff, then you may probably enjoy it. I know that I do. One of my friends gave me this recipe and a while ago and I had made it once. I do not know where she got it from so I cannot give credit to the owner. My hubby enjoyed it and that was good enough for me :). Now, this recipe is versatile in that you can add whatever you want to the basic soup such as chicken, sausages, potato, bacon. I added chicken to mine. Scroll down below for the recipe. INGREDIENTS: 1 stick butter 1 medium onion, diced finely 2 bell peppers, diced 3 (or more-depending on how spicy you like it) jalapenos (seeded and diced) 1/2 cup flour 2 cans low sodium chicken broth 1 quart heavy cream or half and half salt to taste black pepper to taste OPTIONAL (

Book 3 in The Sunny Brook Trilogy is finally finished!

Image
I am so thankful that I was finally able to get this trilogy done. There were times that I thought it would not get finished. With a lot of prayers and support, the Lord has given me the strength and motivation to carry on. Thank you Jesus! This is just the Kindle format but the print formats will be here some time in the near future. Thanks to my fans and supporters! May the Good Lord continue to bless you all! Happy Saturday! Taking a break

Image
I am so thankful that I have finished editing Book 3 of The Sunny Brook Trilogy (Marie-Reunited). All I need to do is work a little bit more on tweaking and formatting before getting it ready to be published on Amazon. I am so excited! This book will first be published as Kindle format but sometime soon, I will be working on the print. Make sure that you like and check my Facebook page for the latest updates! You can click here: AMGlover's Facebook page to get to it. As I end the trilogy, I feel sad at saying goodbye to my characters. I actually cried! (Yes, I am sappy!) I hope that those who actually read my books will fall in love with them. Lizzie, Abigail and Marie were the three main female lives that the trilogy touched on. They had their flaws like each of us( and so did all the characters) but through their faith in God, they were able to achieve so much more and gain strength to carry on, no matter what life brought to them. In the meantime, I have been trying to

First Day of Summer!

Image
Today is the official first day of Summer! I am feeling so excited because I have also finished my draft of Book 3 in the Sunny Brook Trilogy (Marie-Reunited). I am praying that all the editing and revision go smoothly and hopefully it will be ready to publish by the end of the month. It was a bit sad saying goodbye to my characters but who knows what the Lord has in store for the future! Not only has writing been taking a lot of my attention but I was working on my cake decorating skills. This week, I made glazed cookies from icing that was made from scratch, a zebra cake with butter cream frosting that I also made from scratch. Fun, fun, fun! I just need to share the goodies because those calories are not for one person!  I hope that you all enjoy your Summer. Keep up with the latest updates on my Facebook page AMGlover facebook page . Have a blessed day!

Happy Father's Day!

Image
I want to wish every dad a Happy and Blessed Father's Day. If your father is alive, make sure that you tell him you love him. Time is so precious for each of us. This week, I had posted in my author's Facebook page, AMGlover Facebook memories about my father. Though he is no longer here, the memories I hold are precious. He was not perfect but neither is any of us. The Lord had chosen him to be my father and I am grateful for it.  Let us never forget that the most important father one can have is our Heavenly Father who has loved us even before we were born. He loved us so much that He gave His only Begotten Son to die for us so that we can live in Eternity with Him. One of my favorite verses is John 316 . "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Enjoy your day!

Memories of my father

Image
A blessed Sunday to you all! Just a week from today, we'll be celebrating Father's Day all over the world. I want to share with you all a little bit of my late father every day of this week until Father's Day. I will be doing this on my Facebook page. AMGlover Facebook page . You are more than welcome to share your memories of your father or someone who was like a father to you :)  Fathers are important in our lives. First of all, I want to thank my Heavenly Father who is the Greatest of them all. If His Love was not given to us, we would not have had the opportunity to have that Blessed Hope of Eternity in Heaven. As I walk outside, I look at the flowers in my yard and admire them with their brilliant colors and beauty. The Lord made them all. He takes care of them just as a good father takes care of his children. Why not head on over to my Facebook page? I would love to hear from you!

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord

Image
Today is the first day of June, 2014. How much has the time flown by! Sometimes, I have to make myself slow down and reflect. Have you ever done that? Have you ever felt that there are not enough hours in the day? I am almost done writing Book 3 in the Sunny Brook Trilogy (Marie- Reunited). It has been a long journey. At times, it can be frustrating that I cannot get a scene done because the routines of life demands my attention. Then, I have to remind myself that everything is in God's timing. I was finally able to do some work on my book yesterday and it was refreshing that not only was I able to finish a scene that I had started but to write two more! Our problem is that most of the times, we try to do everything ourselves and when we cannot, then we turn to God. Does that happen to you at times? Daily we need to keep reminding ourselves to trust in the Lord before trusting in ourselves or others. The Lord's Way is the Only right way. Lord, I put myself in Your care and tru

Bloom where you are planted

Image
Each day something happens in our lives that make it different from any other day. Just like the rose (or any other flower for that matter), there are no two exactly alike.I love roses, don't you? I was taking a walk in my yard and admiring the roses blooming. The sunlight hit them in just the right way. It touched my heart to see one particular bush that a former church couple had given to us. They no longer attend our church because they had relocated from our area but before they did, the man offered my husband the rose bush. My husband planted it last year and this year, it was blooming so beautifully. If you hadn't noticed yet, I LOVE roses! Just like that rose bush that got replanted, we are to bloom wherever God plants us in life. We can survive with His help. I know, because I had been replanted and my life has become one with less heartache and more joy in my life. Sometimes, we may not know why certain circumstances are in our lives but there is a reason. Our Master G

Remembering our veterans

Image
Today we went to the Veteran's Memorial park where there was a celebration to honor our Veterans. My little one was part of the volunteer chorus from two elementary schools. It brought tears to my eyes to see how much this little gesture touched the hearts of those surviving veterans. It was starting to get a little hot there but thankfully things went smoothly. Apart from my camera's battery going dead right when they were giving the 21-gun salute, I was able to get a few pictures and videos. I am so thankful that I was able to be in the presence of those who have given so much for our freedom. All had given some and some had given all. May God bless America and may God bless our Veterans! Let us never forget who our real heroes are!

Do you know where you are going to?

Image
This past weekend, we attended the funeral services of one of our church members who recently trusted the Lord as his personal Savior. There was crying (understandably so) from his family and friends. The loss of a loved one hurts deep to the core. Yes, I cried too. It is hard for me to see others hurting. Each of us will have memories that are not exactly alike. Our favorite ones will all be different in some way. His wife, his children, his mother, his siblings and all those who were associated to him in some way, will all have different stories to tell.  Though this is a sad time for those who are left behind, it is one of rejoicing for him. He will get to meet our Blessed Savior. That my friends, is the greatest consolation of all. Death is a promise to each of us but there is something that is even greater than death. One that has overcome death and given us a promise- the gift of eternal life. Only through the confession of our sins and our acceptance of the Lord Jesus. He has

Happy Monday!

Image
Good morning dear friends! What a beautiful day today has started to be! The sun is shining in the clear blue skies and I can hear the birds chirping as I type. I just came back from a small grocery shopping trip. I did find a few deals that I just could not pass up. So many plans for today but I just wanted to stop by and say hello. Wishing you all a blessed day! By the way, the photo below is of my dear bassett, Belle. She is getting old but isn't she adorable! :)

A beautiful day

Image
This morning it was so pretty outside that I had to step out of my writing cave and enjoy the scenery. It has already started to get a little muggy. I find myself thinking where is Spring? It seems more like Summer time weather but I am thankful for all the little blessings that the Lord provides each day for us.Enjoy the rest of your day! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
I want to wish all my readers who are mothers a very happy and blessed Mother's Day 2014! My day had started off with my youngest daughter bringing me French Toast and coffee in bed for breakfast. Hubby got me some rose bushes. Two of our daughters got me an orchid plant each. Then at church, the mothers all received corsages. After church, we enjoyed lunch at Captain D's with my daughter and son-in-law. Then my eldest son came for a visit. I was also treated to a "spa" at home where I got my feet soaked and nails painted by the youngest. The day is not over yet! What a blessing today was so far! I want to thank my mother for being the such an inspiring example to me. She is emotionally strong, hard-working and has a lot of faith in the Lord. She has always been there to give an encouraging word or smile. If you have a mother who is still alive, please take the time to tell her how much you appreciate her. Mothers are God's gift to us! Have a wonderful day!

Welcome my dear friends!

Welcome my dear friends to my new blog! I really do appreciate you stopping by! Today has been a day of relaxation after a chaotic few weeks of hassles. The Good Lord is always ready to give us sustenance when we deeply need it. For the past couple days, I felt as if I could not move again and have been plodding along trying to push through the mire of weariness. This morning, I woke up refreshed! Thankful that I have Someone who is there to always provide for me. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
